This is my work account, running Office 365 for Mac. I accidentally attached a large file to an email. I did not try to send it and I've since deleted it, but I keep getting the following pop up alert: 'The total attachment size exceeds the limit. Try removing one or more attachments before saving or sending.' Any idea how to get rid of this? I close it but it keeps popping up every 15 minutes or so. The offending email has been deleted.

When I double click on an attachment, I’m being asked whether I would like to open or save the file. I would like to open it but I don't want to answer this question again. There is an option which says “Always ask before opening this type of file” which I want to turn off but I can't since it is greyed out.

Not sure what else to do to get rid of this alert once and for all.

In order to reduce NDRs and failed sends, Outlook checks the message size before sending and alerts the user that the message is larger than the mail server allows. Because Outlook can't query a SMTP for the maximum attachment size, it uses a default attachment limit of 20 MB (20480kb), which is about right for most ISPs.
