It had to do with the new 2-step authentication that is basically 'required' for iCloud. Free photo eraser. I had to delete the 2-step authorization - and then add it back and then tell iCloud that I needed a special password for Office 365 - and that cryptic password - that I will never remember - is the password to connect the two.
