Hello folks: I have a MBP 2011 which was upgraded to Mavericks from Mountain Lion about 6 weeks ago. Since then I have had a major performance drop - slow machine, very slow window renderings, etc.

I know a number of people have been facing these issues and have been recommended to clean up 3rd party extensions/agents. I ran Etrecheck (report below) and I need some help with fixing the failed kernel extensions and launch daemons. Mavericks is even worse than Microsofts Vista was!

Unfortunately a specific 'possible' removal of one app is not helpful when you have more than a dozen iMAC's (in a medical environment and everyone is now working at crawls pace. We use Java apps but they are not significant since this run on any small XP machine.

Any sharing feature such as SMB access has slowed 10 fold. I do understand apple's lack of commitment to Java may be a factor. Still looking for a minor release/patches from Apple rather than the client desperation of chopping that may adress the systemic problem with Mavericks.

FWIW: 1) I am very happy with my WD hard drives. But, as with all external drives, the first thing I do is to open disk utility and erase/reformat them to HFS+.
