Driver for the Delta Audiophile 2496 card. Audiophile USB Driver: Drivers - Audiophile usb driver: Delta 1010 Driver: Drivers - Driver for Delta 1010.

Hi all, first post here at tonymacx. I was in the same situation as you guys yesterday so I took the liberty to modify the Envy24 driver found at audio-evolution.com.

I own an Audiophile 2496 myself so I was stuck with kernel panic after wake. What I've fixed in the kext is: 1. Sleep/wake shuts down and inits the driver 2. Sound in and out in stereo with analog inputs I sent an email to the author of the driver today and apparently he has stopped developing it and had no objections to me sharing my mod. I hope it's okay to attach it here at the forum, please tell me if it's not.

OS 10.8.x Mountain Lion only. Overwrite existing in /System/Library/Extensions after backing up the old one. Huge disclaimer though; the same warnings still apply as with the older versions and the fixes above (although working for me) may cause all kinds of trouble. So use at your own risk. And I have only tried it with my Delta Audiophile 2496.

Product Information • The Audiophile 2496 embodies a quantum leap in computer audio fidelity and performance unequalled by other audio cards in its price range. This critically acclaimed PCI card features premium digital audio converters, elegant board design and ultra-stable drivers just like the rest of the Delta line, but with a simpler I/O configuration.

As a member of the Delta family, the Audiophile 2496 supports all computer platforms and major software programs, ensuring seamless integration and rock-solid performance. See why the Audiophile 2496 is one of the best-selling digital audio cards in the industry. 2 channel card that is heavy duty & works w/PCI interfacing This particular sound card works well in 'somewhat older' PCs. It uses a PCI interface. I wanted to hook this card up to my stereo system via the computer. My intergrated sound card wound up burnning out when hooked up to my older sound system.

Most likley due to an uneven resistance in Ohms. The RCA inputs & outputs in 2 channel stereo is what grabbed my attention. Also, as the more modern PC's arrive on the market, available PCI slots are becomming less & less. Another reason is that this particular card is being slowly outdated, due to PCI express slots on mother boards are becomming more prevailent. So the price on this sound card has come down considerably.

Newbie with Much To Learn I have not yet really used it yet. I am impressed that a product 11 years old still works and has current drivers available.

The drivers are updated but the manual has not been. The XP instructions said to install the drivers first so that is what I did and then I shut down the PC, installed the 2496 in an available PCI slot and rebooted. One thing to note: Windows 7 64bit takes a lot longer to boot when the 2496 is in the PCI slot. At first I thought I had a defective card but the PC did boot and Device Manager says it installed and is running ok. I had to order some decent patch cables to hook up my Rolls MiniMix 2 to it and won't really know if it is working for a few days still.

But so far so good. The seller was adamant I know he was selling as is because he had not used it in a long time and I appreciate his candor.
