Not sure where to start here.but, i have a G4 450 AGP Mac, with ATI Rage 128 Pro video card (VGA and DVI).for the last couple of years used an Apple Multisync 20 CRT monitor. I recently purchased a Gem (scanport) GL-1821A 18' LCD VGA flat panel monitor. The basic problem is the monitor won't display graphics on start up past the 'apple boot screen'. However, if I start the G4 plugged into an old Compaq 7500 CRT monitor until start up and then unplug the CRT and plug in the LCD, the LCD works just fine. The LCD simply won't display from start up.

I tried looking for new ATI software and ended up with a utility. 'ATI Displays Control Panel version 4.5.7'.which shows the Compaq 7500 (when the CRT is hooked up), but not the LCD. I have tried Auto-Adjust, setting the resolution/refresh but nothing. BTW, the LCD starts in OS 9.2.2 boot at the lowest resolution (620x480, or something like that) and i can change it the desired 1152x670 from the control panel.

So, if it starts in 'classic OS' why not 'OSX' I have not seen this before.VGA to VGA.just plug in and go.any ideas would be appreciated.thx Dave Mac G4 AGP, PB G3 Bronze, PPC G3 Biege Mac OS X (10.2.x) Mac G4 AGP, PB G3 Bronze, PPC G3 Biege Mac OS X (10.2.x). The Rage 128 Pro does not support that screen size at 96Hz. That could be the issue.

Use the VGA port to connect your iMac to a projector so you can display the digital files on a much larger area. 1 Plug the end of the VGA display adapter into the mini-VGA port located on the rear of the iMac. OS Compatibility: Windows, Mac, Linux. Add to Wishlist Compare. Add to Wishlist. HDMI to VGA Adapter with Audio and Mirco USB Converter. HDMI digital signal to VGA analog signal. It is not bi-directional, only transfers signal. HP ProDesk 400 G4 MT Core i3 7th Gen Business PC ৳ 32,000.00.

At that resolution it can only support 75Hz. OS9 would boot most likely because its a bit more flexible and impose the resolution you noted in your first post. OSX on the other hand will do what you are seeing if your machine is not using a support resolution. Here is an idea, with the working monitor set the resolution to 1152 x 864 at 75hz, (this information is saved by the OS and will effect any monitor you hook up) hook up the new monitor and see if that helps.

This happened to me yesterday. Laptop HP ProBook 450 G4 External Monitor Asus VX238H Windows 10 I've been using my Laptop with another external monitor (not the one above) at work for several weeks. No problem using the extended monitor with a VGA connector. Yesterday, I took the Laptop home and attached my Asus Monitor to the HDMI connector. Display Settings detected the new monitor and it configures it as an extended display.

In the last several months, encrypted messaging has gotten a higher profile. Mail app on mac not working.

Windows10 even detected the monitor speakers. After a couple of hours working with this setup the computer starts to slow down noticeably. The GUI becomes unresponsive and impossible to work with. So, I reboot the Laptop. When Windows10 starts again, it no longer detects the external monitor. I've done many of the solutions suggested above (disabling/enabling the display adapter, rolling back the driver version, etc) but Display Settings no longer sees that monitor again.

The monitor works, I've checked it with another PC.
