Since it does not accept a standard 'Carriage Return' (i.e. You can't simply hit 'Return' as you would in a normal text editor), you must use 'ctrl-return' instead. What is not apparent is, that the initial entry of this does not seem to really do anything except make it look correct in Lightroom. To do a simple line feed, you must hit ctrl-return twice, and for a new paragraph, you need to hit it three times, thus creating a blank line.
