User Guide for Fitbit Alta. Fitbit motivates you to reach your health and fitness goals by tracking your activity, exercise, sleep, weight etc. It is a solid fitness tracker for someone that wants.

My Alta won't stay connected via Bluetooth for more than a minute and as a result can't sync my data to my phone. My phone recognizes the Alta, just won't stay connected. (I can sync with the dongle on my Mac but it still takes a long time for it to connect and sync.) My app and software is up to date.

I tried restarting Alta (the three button tap when charging) and it made no difference. I just tried to delete the Alta from my recognized devices in my Bluetooth settings so I could reconnect, because that has worked with a set of Bluetooth headphones I have, but now I can't get it to connect! It did find the tracker after several minutes but it's been trying to actually connect forever! It's still fading in and out on the Bluetooth connection. Please help me get my Alta connected again! I miss syncing on my phone, it's so convenient. Is there an update coming out soon to fix this issue?

My alta goes in and out of connectivity to the app too. I've experienced this issue with my charge hr before (the losing connectivity part), but usually if I close in and out of the app a few times it will come back. I do the same thing now with the alta, but even though I'm not wearing my charge hr and I synced them both before switching today, the app keeps trying to connect to my charge hr. This has caused other issues with my step count, but as for the losing connectivity issue - I have always struggled with this, and I wish FitBit would do something to update their app and fix this issue. I'm having similar difficulties getting my Alta to sync.

It worked perfectly until I upgraded from an iPhone 5 S to an iPhone 6S last Saturday. Now every time I charge my Alta or sometimes overnight it will stop syncing.

When this happens, I reset my tracker, then turn my phone off and back on and then turn Bluetooth off and back on. This works to get my tracker to start syncing again, but it's not something I needed to do previously. Has there been an update that may have caused this issue or is it possibly an issue with switching phones?

It's odd that your Fitbit only syncs when you restart it after you changed your phone. Since it seems that you have the most recent app version and you restarted your tracker, I suggest you to contact our. Thanks for participating in this thread! If your tracker is experiencing issues when connecting with your Wi-Fi, try turning off your router and turn it back on. After this, try using your Wi-Fi to sync your tracker. I think I discovered a pattern now. I also have a Charge HR which I prefer to wear when I work out and while I'm sleeping. My Alta seems to stop syncing my steps when I switch from one tracker to the other. Also, it stops syncing when I charge my Alta, not my phone.

I believe I read somewhere on the community posts that there is an issue with the iOS operating system syncing multiple devices with Bluetooth. I hate to stop wearing either tracker because I love them both.

If you have any more suggestions, I would be most appreciative. Otherwise I will do as you suggested and contact Customer Support. Thank you again for your help.

I found a kind of fix for the syncing issues I've been having with with my Charge HR and Alta. I believe the issue has to do with syncing Bluetooth with my Charge HR and Alta when I switch between devices. What has been consistently working for me is to first sync the device I am currently wearing, then turn Bluetooth off and switch to the other device and turn Bluetooth back on. It's not a perfect fix but I'm happy with this solution. I believe the issue is with the iOS operating system and not Fitbit.
