Hi, So I have a Windows 8.1 Pro full licence and will inevitably at some point need to run windows on my 2015 13' MacBook Pro. I currently have the VM running in Parallels 12 and upgraded to Windows 10 Pro.

However it is most likely that I'll need to Bootcamp full windows at some point using the Windows 8.1 I own. Will I be able to retain windows 10 that way, or should I do it sooner than later as I can still get the free upgrade, or will my licence key work if I download a windows 10 iso instead of 8.1? Also, as I can run the bootcamp partition in windows (so I've heard), can I backup that to an external HDD if the time comes if I need to remove windows from my internal drive, it's almost always full even without bootcamp, and back this up the same way I can backup the Parallels virtual disk? Thanks, • • • • •.
