If Office installation fails, see What to try if you can't install or activate Office 2016 for Mac. Step 3: Launch an Office for Mac app and start the activation process Click the Launchpad icon in the Dock to display all of your apps. Many Office 365 plans contain Office 2013/2016 applications that users can install on their own computers or devices, but there’s some confusion over the use of Office 2013/2016 without an internet connection.

I am having the same issue and after 30 minutes of the worst hold music in history, Dell is sending me a new activation product key - but I have to snail mail back the old one before I get the new one so its going to take at least one week before I can use the software that I purchased with my new Dell XPS 15 that I need to use right away. Seems like a major screwup between Dell and Microsoft. Doesn't seem like it should be that hard in 2015 to activate software that one specifically purchased from Dell from Microsoft and was supposed to be loaded onto the computer. Sets me back at work.

Hello, I am in a loop trying to activate Office 2016 on Windows 10 that I purchased with a Dell workstation. This is a copy of Office 2016 H&B one-off. It's not tied to Office 365. Here's the tale: Yesterday, I was on a workstation that has AOL installed.

(Please don't kill me. It's not my fault.) I launched the Office stub and typed in the key provided by Dell/MS. At this point, I was asked to activate online. Clicking the button produced an error indicating that I 'must' have a web browser installed like Windows Internet Explorer. I tried several things to resolve that, looking at default settings (in the two places where such things exist on Windows 10).

I could not get the Office stub to see the browser. Giving up, I logged into the workstation under a different local user. There I did not get the same error regarding the web browser. I created a Microsoft account for this user but when I was finished, the web page displayed that I had logged into a Office account that had no Office licenses attached to it. I clicked the link to add a key but one of two things would happen: 1. A circular loading dialogue would appear (not the standard Windows 7 wait cursor, something specific to the Office web page) and then disappear. A place to enter the key.

Entering the key, however, produced the same page as before indicating I was in an account which didn't have any licenses attached. At this point, I have no idea what to do or even who to call. I suppose Dell would be the first step. I am not pleased that I've already spent a solid hour trying to resolve this.

I have issues similar to this when setting up Office 2016, here's my process: • Go to insert key, login to Office account. (This is where it assigns the key to the account, put when it then goes to redirect you to your account page where you can install you get stuck with the spinning loading wheel.) • Open a new tab and go to this should load the account page where you can install but this time without loading indefinately. • Install Office 2016, open Word/Excel and go through activation prompt until it gives you a list of all the Office products assigned to that account and select the highest one there. (For example, if I have 5 copies of Office Pro it would list them up to (4) with (4) being the most recent.) Gotta give credit to mxjt for helping me out with the loading wheel issue. Hopefully that'll get you sorted.. Since I ended up here during a search, let me add to the discussion. Emulator mac for windows free When you buy a key only Office product from Dell, the corresponding MS activation account must be the same as the email address used in making the order with Dell.
